HOW IT ALL STARTED
In 2013 in the small community of Thamesville Ontario, Florin Marksteiner got the idea of the festival and talked with all the congregations at the time and everyone was excited to bring the film industry in the community. So, the first edition of the Christian Life International Film Festival took place across 5 denominations and in 5 locations.
After the first edition, the festival grew and solidified around the main church of the town, congregation that gave most of the team and remained the pillar of this festival.
Season by season we had filmmakes participating from across the world with their beautiful productions and we had guests from Baltimore, Dallas, California, Toronto, London, Detroit and a lot more.
WHY WE DO IT
Because Florin Marksteiner is a filmmaker, his idea was to touch and teach the audience, the masses, through the beautiful art of film. And that’s what happened over 6 seasons.
We had people that at the end of the screenings would stick around because they were so touched… they wouldn’t want to leave us.
We had people that changed their lives during the festival because of a message that they found in one of the films. It’s exactly what we wanted from the beginning: to change people’s lives.
WHY THE BREAK
Why we had a seven year break?
We’ve been hit hard by COVID and other circumstances that came our way in such a manner that we lost dear festival crew members.
It was a huge blow for the organizer and a drastic halt on such a beautiful event.
Since 2025, we can say that we’re in rebound and we’re walking in faith, so, we decided to reopen the Festival.
2026 Edition
This time the Christian Life International Film Festival will take place in Romania!
Who knows… maybe next edition we’ll be in another country.
